Founder and President: Meryl Brod, PhD
Meryl Brod, PhD, is the President and founder of The BROD GROUP. Prior to forming The Brod Group, Dr. Brod was Vice President of Scientific and Global Research Affairs for Quintiles Late Phase, an international late-phase research organization and subsidiary of Quintiles Transnational where she was instrumental in developing a late-phase consulting practice that combined science with effective operations. She is also the founding director of two internationally renowned geriatric research institutes, The Nerken Center for Geriatric Research in New York, and the Center for Clinical and Aging Services Research of the Institute on Aging in San Francisco. Dr. Brod's previous experience includes faculty positions at major university medical school campuses as well as serving as Principal Investigator on numerous clinical trials.
Dr. Brod is an expert and innovator in listening to the patient voice to bridge clinical and commercial needs both in the United States and Europe. She has designed and successfully implemented numerous clinical trial piggyback and stand-alone outcomes research studies for the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Brod is an internationally recognized expert in the development of clinical outcome assessment measures to evaluate Symptoms and Functioning, Quality of Life, Treatment Satisfaction, Resource Utilization, and Burden of Illness as well as the strategy and design of Late-Phase studies including Observational Registries, Comparator Trials, and Effectiveness Studies. She is the author of over 150 peer reviewed publications and presentations.
Dr. Brod is a graduate of Emory University, the University of Chicago, and the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.

Our team of consultants is comprised of individuals with diverse academic backgrounds including Medical Sociology and Anthropology, Psychology, Library Science, and Statistics. Our team of consultants provides an essential interdisciplinary perspective on any project. Collectively, the team has decades of expertise with study design, project management, manuscript preparation, literature review, and qualitative methodologies including implementation and data analysis. The majority of our consultants are PhD level researchers and we do not leverage down to junior consultants. This level of training, in combination with our breadth and depth of experience, allows The BROD GROUP to offer targeted consulting tailored specifically to our clients’ needs.
