Meryl Brod, PhD is the President of the The Brod Group, a Health Outcomes and Phase IV strategic planning consultancy. Prior to forming The Brod Group, Dr. Brod was Vice President of Scientific and Global Research Affairs for Quintiles Late Phase, an international late phase research organization and subsidiary of Quintiles Transnational. Dr. Brod was instrumental in developing a late phase consulting practice that combined science with effective operations. She is an expert in bridging clinical and marketing needs both in the United States and Europe and has designed and successfully implemented numerous clinical trial piggyback and stand-alone outcomes research studies for the pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Brod is an internationally recognized expert in the development of patient-reported measures to evaluate Quality of Life, Treatment Satisfaction, Resource Utilization and Burden of Illness as well as the strategy and design of Late Phase studies including Observational Registries, Comparator Trials and Effectiveness Studies. Dr. Brod is a graduate of Emory University, the University of Chicago and the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine. She is the founding director of two internationally renowned geriatric research institutes, The Nerken Center for Geriatric Research in New York, and the Center for Clinical and Aging Services Research of the Institute on Aging in San Francisco. Dr. Brod's previous experience includes faculty positions at major university medical school campus's as well as serving as Principal Investigator on numerous clinical trials. She is the author of over 100 peer reviewed publications and presentations.
